Poached Fruit

These three fruits have long served as goddess food and symbols and make a light, simple and elegant desert or late-night snack

Light sugar syrup
Fresh halved apricot, fig or peach

Directions
Poach the apricot or peach halves lightly in the syrup, then dust with a tiny pinch of cinnamon or clove. Poach fig halves with a few strips of lemon rind and a bit of ginger, then add a dollop of vanilla-flavored cream. Perfectly ripe fresh apricots, peaches, and figs are also very sexy and flavorful all by their juicy sweet selves.
